This specimen was lot 75550 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2025), where it sold for $168. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Maundy 2 Pence, 1708. London Mint. Anne. PCGS AU-58. From the Richard August Collection." The silver halfgroat was struck for queen Anne 1708-10 and 1713 in sufficient numbers that it is fairly common today. It is still struck in silver for the Maundy sets but was superseded for circulation by the copper penny in 1797.
