This specimen was lot 1001 in Stephen Album sale 47 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2023), where it sold for $312. The catalog description[1] noted, "PORTUGUESE INDIA: GOA: João VI, Regent, 1799-1816, AR pardao, 1802, EF." This type struck 1796-1806 along with a half pardao (KM 206) and rupia (KM 205). By the eighteenth century, Portuguese holdings were limited to Diu, Damao and Goa. Each had a mint which struck hammered coinage until the 1860's.
