Stack's Bowers 2015 NYINC sale, lot 1058

This specimen was lot 1058 in Stacks-Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2015), where it sold for $575. The catalog description^[1] noted, "GHANA. 2 Pounds, 1968. NGC PROOF-68 ULTRA CAMEO. Tied with 2 others for finest certified. Mintage of only 2,000 pieces. Commemorating the 1st anniversary of General Kotoka's death." The SCWC lists this and several other two pound pieces issued 1960-77 but consigns them to the Unusual World Coins, 5th ed.
