Sincona sale 63, part of lot 2527

This specimen was part of lot 2527 in Sincona sale 63 (Zürich, June 2020), where it sold for 4,569 CHF (about US$5,725 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"EDELMETALL-AUKTION | DEUTSCHLAND | Bundesrepublik Deutschland, 100 Euro 2017. Eisleben und Wittenberg. Kompletter Satz der Prägestätten A, D, F, G, J. Lot von 5 Exemplaren. Feingewicht total: 77.75 Gramm. FDC. In Originaletuis mit Zertifikaten. (Germany, Federal Republic, one hundred euro of 2017, Eisleben and Wittenberg. Uncirculated, Complete set of five pieces with mintmarks A, D, F, G, J. In original boxes with certificates.)"

This NCLT was issued at all five mints to honor Eisleben and Wittenberg as an UNESCO World Heritage Site. The two towns in Saxony are where Martin Luther concocted the Reformation. Similar half ounce gold coins on other topics were issued 2002-19.

Recorded mintage: 31,600 each at Berlin (A), Munich (D), Stuttgart (F), Karlsruhe (G) and Hamburg (J).

Specification: 15.55 g, 0.999 fine gold, .500 troy oz, 28 mm diameter.
