This specimen was lot 71573 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, October 2020), where it sold for $288. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Empire. 3 Kopeks, 1916-A. Berlin Mint. PCGS MS-65 Gold Shield. Military coinage for use in the Eastern Front. Quite shimmering and brilliant for this WWI-era coinage, and seldom encountered in a Gem-like status." In 1916, German military authorities issued one, two and three kopek coins for use in occupied Poland. In 1917, after the treaty of Brest-Litovsk, these also circulated in White Russia and the Baltic states. Made of iron, most survivors are in low grade.
