The first specimen was lot 4803 in Sincona sale 83 (Zürich, May 2023), where it sold for 150 CHF (about US$201 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "SWITZERLAND Geneva, 6 Deniers 1825, Genf. Silberabschlag. Selten (Rare. PCGS MS65)." This is an off-metal strike of a type struck 1819, 1825 and 1833. Six deniers made half a sol and 153 sols made a thaler. The coinage was made decimal in 1839 and ceased in 1848 with confederation. The second specimen was lot 58521 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2024), where it sold for $144. The catalog description[2] noted, "SWITZERLAND. Geneva. Billon 6 Deniers, 1825. NGC MS-67."

Recorded mintage: unknown but not rare.
