This specimen was lot 32828 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), where it sold for $600. The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic gold Proof 1000 Dalasis 1987 PR69 Ultra Cameo NGC. Mirror-like fields and flawless surfaces characterize this proof World Wildlife Fund issue depicting a Gambian puffback bird." This NCLT was issued by the Gambia to honor the 25th anniversary of the World Wildlife Fund by featuring a Gambian puffback bird. It was accompanied by a silver 20 dalasis (KM 24) featuring a colobus monkey. Wikipedia comments, "The northern puffback (Dryoscopus gambensis) is a species of bird in the family Malaconotidae. It is found in northern sub-Saharan Africa."
