This specimen was lot 637 in Stacks-Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2015), where it sold for $6,462.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Fulda. Taler, 1672. Bernhard Gustav Adolf (1671-77). NGC MS-66. Shield with miter and crown; Reverse: Eleven line inscription. VERY RARE and exceptional quality. Sharply struck with rich toning. Truly museum quality. From the Rockaway Collection." The abbot of Fulda was made a bishop in 1752 and struck thalers occasionally in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. This type and the similar Dav-5315 are rare. This specimen was offered again as lot 130 in Künker sale 400 (Berlin, February 2024), where it sold for €7,500 (about US$9,730 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[2] noted,

"FULDA, ABTEI, SEIT 1752 BISTUM, Bernhard Gustav von Baden-Durlach, 1671-1677. Reichstaler 1672, auf seine Wahl zum Abt von Fulda. 11 Zeilen Schrift//Vierfeldiges Wappen unter Kardinalshut, darüber Palmbaum, von einem Stein beschwert. In US-Plastikholder der NGC mit der Bewertung MS 66 (3899537-017). Sehr selten, besonders in dieser Erhaltung. Prachtexemplar. Herrliche Patina, fast Stempelglanz. Exemplar der Slg. Rockaway, Auktion Stack's Bowers, New York, Januar 2015, Nr. 637. (Germany, abbey of Fulda, Bernard Gustav of Baden-Durlach, 1671-77, thaler of 1672, on his promotion to abbot of Fulda. Obverse: eleven line inscription; reverse: quartered arms with cardinal's hat and palm tree above. Graded NGC MS66, very scarce in this quality, choice example, superb patina, about uncirculated.)"
