Aureo y Calicó sale 422, lot 3067

This specimen was lot 3067 in Aureo y Calicó sale 422 (Barcelona, December 2023), where it sold for 12 € (about US$16 including buyer's fees). The catalog description^[1] noted, "Alemania. 1918. Freudenstadt (Württemberg). 1/2 marco. Hierro. MBC+ [half mark of 1918, iron, choice very fine]." Freudenstadt is today a health resort on the edge of the Black Forest (Schwarzwald). The town was badly wrecked by the French army in April 1945.
