Frankfurt (1429-31) goldgulden Fr-937
This specimen was lot 1513 in Künker Auction 425 (Osnabrück, July 2025), where it sold for €700 (about US$991 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"DEUTSCHE MÜNZEN UND MEDAILLEN · FRANKFURT, REICHSMÜNZSTÄTTE Sigismund von Luxemburg, König 1410-1433. Goldgulden o. J. (1429-1431). GOLD. Sehr schön. (Germany, city of Frankfurt, imperial mint, Sigismund as king of Germany, 1410-33, undated goldgulden, circa 1429-31. Very fine.)"
This type is among the more common gold coins of the fifteenth century. It varies from the very similar goldgulden of 1428-29 by having the quadrilobe decorated with rings instead of rosettes.
