France 2009 100 euro KM-1536
This specimen was lot 1097 in Jean Elsen sale 138 (Brussels, September 2018), where it sold for €160 (about US$222 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"FRANCE, Cinquième République (1959-), AV 100 euro, 2009. Semeuse. Etui. Fleur de Coin. (France, fifth republic, since 1959, gold hundred euro of 2009, featuring the sower. Proof.)"
The treaty which established the euro in 1999 gave specifications for the one cent thru two euro coins which are legal tender throughout the European Union. Higher denominations are not legal tender and each country is free to issue commemoratives as it sees fit, a right the Paris mint has ruthlessly exploited. This tenth ounce gold coin is listed for 2008-10.
