Stack's Bowers 2022 ANA sale, lot 35454

This specimen was lot 35454 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2022), where it sold for $480. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRANCE. 10 Euros, 2007. Paris Mint. GEM PROOF. Includes original box of issue." The Paris mint issued numerous ten euro coins in 2007, including KM 1418, 1420, 1453, 1474, 1478, 1480 (shown here), 1485, 1489, 1502, 1508, 1512 and 1519, on all manner of topics. All are NCLT's. The Airbus A380, intended to challenge the Boeing 747, first flew in 2003 and entered service with Singapore Airlines in 2007. Only 251 were built before production ended in 2021. The airlines switched from hub-and-spoke networks to point-to-point, for which wide body twin jets offer greater fuel efficiency.
