This specimen is a common date of a type struck at the Paris mint for France 1965-78, 1983-87, 1991-97 and 2000. Other dates exist but are only available from FDC sets. The original Roty design, called La Semeuse, appeared on half, one and two francs of 1898-1920.

Recorded mintage: 131,669,000.

Specification: 4.5 g, nickel, 19.5 mm diameter, reeded edge, after a design by Oscar Roty (1846-1911).
