This specimen was lot 30827 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), where it sold for $8,400. The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic gold 10 Francs 1971 SP69 PCGS, KM P436. Needless to say, it would be extremely difficult to find a comparable example to this magnificent giant. With a mintage of only 250 pieces and an outstanding grade of SP69, there is almost no upgrade possible; mirror fields without even the smallest hairline push forward frosted designs pristine to the tiniest detail. An exceptional, flawless beauty." This specimen is from a type struck at the Paris mint for France 1965-73 altho few circulated.

Recorded mintage: 513,000[2] plus 250 in gold (KM P436) and 500 in silver (KM P435).

Specification: 25 g, 0.900 fine silver, 37 mm diameter, .723 troy oz ASW, decorated edge, after a design by Augustin Dupré (1748-1833).
