This specimen is a common date of a type struck at the Paris mint for France 1960-2001. Some of the later dates after 1978 are only available from FDC sets. All were demonetized with the coming of the euro in 2002. The original Roty design, called La Semeuse, appeared on half, one and two francs of 1898-1920.

Recorded mintage: 42,570,000.

Specification: 6 g, nickel, 24 mm diameter, after a design by Oscar Roty (1846-1911).
