France 1861-A 10 centimes
This specimen was lot 74826 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for $105. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRANCE. 10 Centimes, 1861-A. Paris Mint. Napoleon III. PCGS MS-64 Red Brown." This specimen, struck at the Paris mint, is an example of a Napoleon III "laureate head" ten centimes. Strasbourg ("BB") and Bordeaux ("K") also minted this type. The type was struck 1861-65 with a total production of 52 million examples. It is common. Some dates are scarce but none are rare.

Specification: 10 g, bronze, 30 mm diameter, plain edge, designed by Albert-Desiré Barré (1818-78) and Jean-Jacques Barré (1793-1855).
