This specimen, from the Paris mint, is a common date of a series struck in France 1855-60. The ten francs d'or is, as a class, much scarcer than the contemporary twenty francs d'or. It is especially rare to find in nice condition. The earlier type (Fr-576), with a 17 mm diameter, was struck 1854-55 only and is very scarce.
Recorded mintage: 10,774,115[1].
Specification: 3.23 g, 0.900 fine gold, 19 mm diameter, reeded edge.
Catalog reference: VG 1014; KM 784.3; Friedberg 576a, F.506/3.
