This specimen was lot 392 in Classical Numismatic Group's sale of the Lissner Collection (Chicago, August 2014), where it sold for $1,210. The catalog description[2] noted, "FRANCE, Royal (Restored). Louis Philippe. 1830-1848. AR Franc. Paris mint; différents: anchor and star. Nicolas-Pierre Tiolier, engraver general. Jean-Pierre Collot, director. Dated 1839 A. In NGC encapsulation graded MS 67. Superb iridescent gem with superb color. Purchased from A. H. Baldwin & Sons, September 1966."

Recorded mintage: 242,612 (priced about 50% more than the common date)[1].

Specification: 23 mm diameter, 5 grams, 0.900 fine silver, reeded edge. Designed by Joseph François Domard, 1792-1858; this specimen Ø22 mm, 5.00 g, 6h axis.
