This specimen was lot 1708 in Jean Elsen sale 147 (Brussels, June 2021), where it sold for €170 (about US$249 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"FRANCE, Louis-Philippe (1830-1848), AR 1/4 franc, 1836BB, Strasbourg. Rare. Très Beau. (kingdom of France, Louis Philippe, 1830-48, silver quarter franc of 1836, Strasbourg mint. Rare, Very Fine.)"
The catalog[2] notes 108 dates for the type, some very rare. This date is priced about six times the common date (1836-A).
Recorded mintage: 11,474[2], a scarce date.
