This specimen was lot 1130 in Jean Elsen sale 124 (Brussels, March 2015), where it sold for €220 (about US$274 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"FRANCE, Louis-Philippe (1830-1848), AR 1 franc, 1833 A, Paris. Belle patine. Superbe. (France, Louis-Philippe (1830-48), silver one franc of 1833, Paris mint. Nice toning, extremely fine.)"

The production of five franc pieces in the same period was 289 million.

Specification: 23 mm diameter, 5 grams, 0.900 fine silver, reeded edge. Designed by Joseph François Domard, 1792-1858.

Recorded Mintage: 114,247[1] (priced about twice the most common date).
