Stack's Bowers September 2025 Collectors Choice sale, lot 74675

This specimen was lot 74675 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2025), where it sold for $125. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRANCE. Denier Tournois, 1614-A. Paris Mint. Louis XIII. PCGS AU-55. From the Richard August Collection." This denier tournois au petit bust poupard col plat was struck at Paris 1611-17, 1620-21 and at Amiens 1614-16. The denier tournois au grande buste enfantin is generally scarcer than the double tournois. Its face value was 1/240 livre tournois.

Recorded mintage: unknown but common[2].

Specification: 1.56 g, copper, 16-17 mm diameter, plain edge.
