This specimen was lot 1245 in Jean Elsen sale 142 (Brussels, September 2019), where it sold for €110 (about US$143 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"FRANCE, Royaume, Louis XII (1498-1515), billon dizain Ludovicus, s.d. (1512), point 12e, Lyon. D/ Grand L oncial couronné, entre X-II. R/ Croix ornée, cantonnée de deux lis et deux L. Très Beau. (kingdom of France, Louis XII, 1498-1515, undated billon dizain of Louis, twelfth point, Lyon mint. Obverse: large crowned "L" between "X-II"; reverse: ornate cross cantonned with two lilies and two "L's". Very Fine.)"

This type was struck towards the end of the reign of Louis XII and had a face value of ten deniers tournois. Louis XII spent most of his reign and his treasure on his Italian adventures, wherein he tried and failed to conquer Milan and Naples.
