This specimen was lot 10511 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Anaheim, CA, August 2016), where it sold for $1,527.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Redondo, California. $5 1902 Plain Back. Fr. 599. The First NB. Charter #8143. PCGS Choice About New 58 Apparent. Small Rust Stain in Left Margin. A gorgeous example which is new to the census and the highest graded large size note known for the bank as well. A truly Uncirculated note that is seen with jumbo sized margins, excellent purple stamped signatures and fantastic eye appeal. A touch of handling and a small rust stain in the left margin are all that keeps this note from grading higher."

The catalog description[1] noted, "Redondo, CA - $10 1902 Plain Back Fr. 625 The First NB Ch. # (P)8143. A somewhat more available bank, although one which is by no means common in large size. Evenly circulated About Fine."

The catalog description[1] noted, "Redondo, CA - $20 1902 Plain Back Fr. 651 The First NB Ch. # 8143. A "zombie" note, but, unlike most of its brethren, intact enough to be collectible. Good. No returns on this note please...we couldn't stand the thrill of cataloguing it for the second time."
