The catalog description[1] noted, "Orange, CA - $10 1902 Plain Back Fr. 625 The First NB Ch. # 8181. The signatures can still be seen on this note from this Orange County issuer. Fine. From The Kansas City Collection."

This specimen was lot 3403 in Stack's Bowers Baltimore Auction (Baltimore, November 2010), where it sold for $373.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "National Bank Notes. Orange, California. $20 1902 PB. Fr. 651. The First NB. Charter #8181. Fine. A scarce Orange County note which shows with generally nice appeal for the grade. Bright overprints are noted with even circulation. The note does however show heavily faded signatures and also is seen with a medium hole at lower left which has been plugged with a piece from another note of the same design."

The first note was lot 2695 in Goldberg sale 62 (Beverly Hills, February 2010), where it sold for $310.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "1929, $5 National Bank Note. The First NB, Orange, CA. PCGS Very Fine 20. While small size notes from here aren't particularly rare, they don't show up for public sale with any regularity. This one is as nice as most we've seen."

The second note was lot 2697 in Goldberg sale 62 (Beverly Hills, February 2010), where it sold for $126.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "1929, $5 National Bank Note. The First NB, Orange, CA. PCGS Apparent Fine 12. This note from Orange has a paperclip rust stain on the face that is mentioned by PCGS."
