This specimen was lot 17762 in Heritage auction 354 (the Horwedel sale, Long Beach, CA, September 2004), where it sold for $6,325. The catalog description[1] noted, "Hemet, CA - $5 1902 Plain Back Fr. 606 The First NB Ch. # 10764, A very rare large note from Hemet's only issuing bank. Only two large notes are listed in the census, and, with only $440 outstanding from here in large size, that may well be the extent of the survivors from here. Even Charley Colver, whose Riverside County holdings may never be duplicated, never managed to obtain any large example from here. Evenly circulated Fine." This specimen was subsequently lot 20314 in Heritage auction 3574 (Long Beach, CA, September 2019), where it sold for $5,520.
