This specimen was lot 1273 in Sincona sale 93 (Zürich, October 2024), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,
"RUSSLAND Kaiserreich und Föderation, Alexander II. 1855-1881, 50 Penniä 1892 L, Helsinki Mint. Mintage for Finland. NGC MS64."
This type is listed for 1872-76, 1889-93, 1907-17 and was struck for Finland by the czarist administration. Russian defeats in World War One enabled the Finns, who had long chafed under Russian rule, to declare independence. This date is somewhat scarce.
Recorded mintage: 344,000.
