This specimen was lot 23 in Sincona sale 31 (Zurich, October 2016), where it sold for 16,000 CHF (about US$18,993 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "OTTOMAN TUNIS | Mahmud I (1143-1171/1730-1754ce) sultani 1148ah (1735ce) AU KM 45 RRRR vf-xf 3.47 g. Only the years 1051 and 1055 have been published for this type. Cf. Damali-TU-A2. According to Stephen Album, this piece is probably unique. Ex Album 23:338."
KM 45, struck AH 1151 and 1155. 3.34 g, 23 mm diameter. VF $350.
