This specimen was lot 2159 in Sincona sale 43 (Zurich, October 2017), where it sold for 2,400 CHF (about US$2,864 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Sachsen-Meiningen, Herzogtum, Bernhard Erich Freund, 1803-1866 Konventionstaler o. J. (1812). Saalfeld Auf den Tod seines Vaters Herzog Georg. Geprägt unter der Vormundschaft von Herzogin Luise Eleonore. Kahnt 503. Thun 374. Dav-2734. Sehr selten. Nur 120 Exemplare geprägt. Vorzüglich. Hübsche Patina. (duchy of Saxe-Meiningen, Bernhard Erich Freund, 1803-66, undated convention thaler struck 1812, on the death of the duke's father. Made under the regency of duchess Louisa Eleanor. Very rare. Only 120 pieces struck, Extremely fine, Attractive patina.)"
