This specimen was lot 3814 in Künker sale 264 (Osnabrück, June 2015), where it sold for €12,000 (about US$15,502 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SACHSEN, KURFÜRSTENTUM Friedrich August III. (I.), 1763-1806-1827. 10 Taler (Doppelter August d'or) 1779, Dresden. 13.31 g. Geharnischtes Brustbild r. mit umgelegtem Mantel und Ordensband//Zwei aneinandergelehnte, lorbeerumwundene Wappenschilde, darüber Kurhut, unten die Signatur I . E . C . (Johann Ernst Croll, Münzmeister in Dresden 1779-1804). Buck 165; Fr-2874. GOLD. Sehr selten, besonders in dieser Erhaltung. Vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. (electorate of Saxony, Frederick Augustus III, 1763-1827, ten thaler of 1779, Dresden mint. Obverse: armored and mantled bust to right; reverse: two inclined oval shields, laurel wreaths around, ducal hat above, signature below. Very rare in this quality, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"
