This specimen was part of lot 1288 in Künker sale 263 (Osnabrück, June 2015), which sold for €800 (about US$1,033 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SACHSEN-ALTENBURG, HERZOGTUM Josef, 1834-1848. Vereinsdoppeltaler 1841, 1843. AKS 48; Dav-811; Kahnt 481; Thun 353. 2 Stück., Felder leicht geglättet (1x), kl. Kratzer (1x), sehr schön und sehr schön-vorzüglich. (duchy of Saxe-Altenburg, Joseph, 1834-48, union double thalers of 1841 and 1843. Two pieces, one tooled, one scratched, very fine and very fine-extremely fine.)"
