This specimen was lot 21410 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Anaheim, CA, August 2016), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. 1/2 Ruble, 1795-CNB AK. Catherine II (the Great) (1762-96). NGC MS-61. C-66c; Bit-325; Dia-787. RARE. The single finest graded piece at NGC by three points. From late in Catherine's reign, and like all of the Poltina coinage from the era a date that saw very heavy circulation. Original surfaces throughout, and luster electrifying the obverse legends. Full facial features and attractive toning." poltina, 12 g, .750 fine silver. C66c issued 1785-96. 1795 m. 148,000. VF $675.
