This specimen was lot 10611 in Ponterio sale 169 (Baltimore, November 2012), where it sold for $15,275. The catalog description[1] noted, "POLAND. Danzig. Taler, 1577. PCGS Genuine--Devices Engraved, EF Details Secure Holder. Dav-8453; Gum-782; Dutkowski/Suchanek-108b. A RARE type coin with decent eye appeal. Sharp with some re-engraving of the details noted under inspection. Struck during the siege of Stephan Bathory. From the Katherine Gordon Kron Collection of Revolutionary Coins and Currency."
