&&& This specimen was lot 2049 in Classical Numismatic Group's auction of the Robert Lissner collection (Chicago, August 2014), where it sold for $__. The catalog description[1] noted, "PERU, Republic. 1821-present. AR 4 Reales (33 mm, 13.21 g, 6h). Arequipa mint. Dated 1839 MV. KM 151.2; C 131.2. In NGC encapsulation graded AU 58. Choice AU, but pretty much as struck. Full lustrous surfaces with just a hint of toning. This coin is very rare in this grade and is the highest graded for the date by five grades. Ex Freeman Craig (7 May 1986), lot 767."
