This specimen was lot 2028 in Classical Numismatic Group's auction of the Robert Lissner collection (Chicago, August 2014), where it sold for $__. The catalog description[1] noted, "PERU, Republic. 1821-present. CU 1/4 Real (16 mm, 1.12 g). Provisional coinage. Lima mint. Dated 1822. KM 135; C 121. In NGC encapsulation graded AU 58. Deeply toned chocolate brown. Only three of these have been graded and all of them at AU 58. Purchased from Sam Lopresto, March 1972."
