This specimen was lot 30243 in Heritage sale 3037 (New York, January 2015), where it sold for $2,467.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Papal States. Gregory XVI gold 10 Scudi 1835-R Anno V MS64 NGC, Rome mint, KM1108. A spectacular, early date in the series with honey-gold surfaces that hold vibrant, original mint luster. Of particular note are the frosty and razor-sharp devices that sit atop glossy fields. Seldom encountered in this premium level of preservation, greatly appealing as such. (Notated incorrectly by NGC at Anno XVI.) From The Alexander Collection."
