This specimen was lot 24567 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2018), where it sold for $168. The catalog description[1] noted, "NEW ZEALAND. Timaru. Clarkson & Turnbull. Penny Token, 1865. NGC AU-58 BN.Andrews-69; Lampard-312; KM-TN14; Gray-45; Renniks-80. Rarity 4. Ship in port, 'New Zealand' above, 'Timaru' in exergue; Reverse: 'General Importers Drapers Clothiers & c.' within beaded boarder, 'Clarkson and Turnbull.1865.' around. A lovely lightly circulated example with hints of original mint red hugging the central devices of the obverse and mottled patina on the reverse. From the James Heegeman Collection."
