This specimen was lot 24558 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2018), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "NEW ZEALAND. Christchurch/Sydney, New South Wales, Brisbane, Queensland. Henry J. Hall/Flavelle Bros & Co. Penny Token Mule, ND (ca. 1857). NGC MS-64 BN. Andrews-160; Lampard-322d; KM-TN30; Gray-90a; Renniks-174. Rarity 9-10. EXTREMELY RARE especially so in this state of preservation. Emu left and Kangaroo right facing each other, tall thin foliage behind Kangaroos tail, "W.J. Taylor London" in exergue; Reverse: "One Penny" at center, "Henry.J.Hall. Christchurch Coffee Mills" around. Sharply struck with excellent definition of the fine details. Lovely smooth chocolate patina throughout. From the James Heegeman Collection."
