This specimen was lot 29 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabruck, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €9,000 (about US$12,131 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"MÜNSTER, BISTUM, Friedrich Christian von Plettenberg, 1688-1706. Reichstaler 1698, Münster. 28,06 g. Brustbild r. in Bischofsornat//Gekröntes Wappen in verzierter Kartusche, dahinter Krummstab und Schwert gekreuzt. Dav-5616; Schulze 158 var. RR Attraktives, sehr schönes Exemplar. (bishopric of Munster, Frederick Christian of Plettenberg, 1688-1706, thaler of 1698, Munster mint. Obverse: bishop's bust to right; reverse: crowned sixfold arms, sword and crozier behind. Very rare, attractive, very fine example.)"
