This specimen was lot 23308 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $192. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 1/2 Escudo, 1859-DoCP. Durango Mint. PCGS AU-58 Secure Holder. Fr-111; KM-378.1. Minimally marked for the grade with a set of natural planchet adjustments running over the "B" in "REPUBLICA" on the eagle side. Single finest graded at PCGS. A SCARCE date that is seldom offered."
