This specimen was lot 71219 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, May 2018), where it sold for $384. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 2 Escudo, 1827/6-Mo JM. PCGS AU-55 Secure Holder. Fr-87; KM-380.7. Date slightly weak, but overall a good strike with full snake on eagle's breast. Overdate is clear. A wholesome example with good luster and light attractive tone."
