This specimen was lot 24411 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2018), where it sold for $528. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Peso, 1871-GaC. NGC Unc Details--Surface Hairlines. KM-408.3. A very difficult mint to find high grade examples of this type. Sharply struck with attractive tone and strong underlying luster. Only a few light surface hairlines that are barely noticeable prevent this piece from being numerically graded. From the Alex Siegel Collection."
