This specimen was lot 21196 in Stack's Bowers 2018 NYINC sale (New York, January 2018), where it sold for $2,400. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 8 Escudos, 1844-MoMF. NGC EF-45. Fr-64; KM-383.9. RARE date. Noted by Richard Long as "an extremely rare coin." This example shows even wear with no major defects. Luster still remaining in the devices."
