This specimen was lot 30188 in Heritage sale 3042 (Long Beach, September 2015), where it sold for $5,170. The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic gold 20 Pesos 1873 CH-M MS63 NGC, Chihuahua mint, KM414.1, Fr-121. A stunning Mint State selection with vibrant fields that exhibit some reflectivity and fewer than typical marks for the grade. Other than a small rim bruise which is only noticeable from the reverse, this choice specimen is absolutely pleasing. Boasting a small mintage of just 950 pieces for the date, this offering is currently tied for the finest-known certified example in this top grade, making it highly desirable among collectors."
