This specimen was lot 31303 in Heritage sale 3041 (Chicago, August 2015), where it sold for $3,525. The catalog description[1] noted, "Charles IV gold 2 Escudos 1805 Mo-TH MS62 NGC, Mexico City mint, KM 132, Cal-371. Brilliant Mint State and choice for the assigned grade, with prooflike fields, sharply defined features and random surface contact marks preventing a higher technical designation. The light old toning is quite gorgeous and contributes to the great eye-appeal of this finely preserved example. Also a scarcer date, missing in Norweb, Gerber and Eliasberg, and currently the only certified example by NGC. A prize! From The Rudman Collection of Mexican Coins."
