This specimen was lot 29762 in Heritage sale 3042 (Long Beach, September 2015), where it sold for $3,055. The catalog description[1] noted, "Mecklenburg-Schwerin. Friedrich Franz I gold 2 Taler 1792 MS63 NGC, KM232, Fr-1724. Seldom-offered in the marketplace and virtually unseen at this level of Mint State, the current offering absolutely engages the eye with boldly-struck design features and glowing, mark-free surfaces. An altogether alluring example of this singular issue, captivating from all angles, and with undeniable flash."
