This specimen was lot 2033 in Sincona sale 25 (Zurich, October 2015), where it sold for 35,000 CHF (about US$43,233 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Vittorio Emanuele II. 1859-1878 100 Lire 1878. R, Rome Dies by Ferraris. VITTORIO - EMANUELE II Head to l., signature of the die cutter below. Rev. REGNO - D'ITALIA Crowned arms of Savoy on laurel wreath, R - L· 100 below. 32.22 g. Pagani 453. MIR 1076c. Fr-9. Extremely rare, only 294 pieces minted. Good extremely fine. Tiny scratches in field and minor rim nick."
