This specimen was lot 940 in Künker sale 263 (Osnabrück, June 2015), where it sold for €460 (about US$594 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"HESSEN-KASSEL, KURFÜRSTENTUM Friedrich Wilhelm, 1847-1866. Vereinstaler 1864. Mit Signatur C. P. am Halsabschnitt. AKS 62; Dav-697; Kahnt 257 a; Thun 190. Selten in dieser Erhaltung. Prachtexemplar. Herrliche Patina, fast Stempelglanz. (Electorate of Hesse, Frederick William, 1847-66, union thaler of 1864 with initials "C.P." on truncation. Rare in this quality, proof example, handsome patina, choice uncirculated.)"
