This specimen was lot 2697 in Goldberg sale 91 (Los Angeles, June 2016), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "Great Britain. Shilling, ND NGC AU50. S.2800. Charles I, 1625-1649. Tower mint under Parliament. Mint mark, R in brackets (1644-45). Irregular edges, bust softly struck, attractive old toning with lustrous fields. NGC graded AU-50."

many varieties of Charles I shillings (KM 99 thru 112, 165, 186 thru 196, 203 thru 206, 242.1 thru 242.12, 292 thru 294, 295.1 thru 302.2). this one is KM 112 (VF $475). most very rare.
