This specimen was lot 2169 in Goldberg sale 112 (Los Angeles, September 2019), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "Italian States: Genoa (As the Ligurian Republic). 8 Lire, 1798/1. Dav-1371; KM-266.1; Pagani-11. Short lived republic created by Napoleon (1798-1805). Fasces and liberty cap behind shield in sprays. reverse: Two figures standing. Minor surface flakes. Steel grey old toning. Rare in top grades. NGC graded MS-62."
KM 266.2, Mont-81, 1798-99, 1804 only, 33.27 g, .889 fine silver, 41 mm diameter.
