This specimen was lot 3230 in Goldberg sale 78 (Los Angeles, January 2014), where it sold for $5,875. The catalog description[1] noted, "Great Britain. Penny, 1860/59. S.3948; Peck-1521. Victoria. One of the Great Rarities of the copper penny series (catalog value in Spink in Extremely Fine 3750£ approximately $6000 and Uncirculated 6000£ approximately $9600). Extremely Rare. NGC graded MS-61 Brown."
